EAM – European Animation Masterclass
The first project of the International Academy of Media and Arts was the European Animation Masterclass (EAM).
The first EAM started on 17 May 2005. Over a period of seven months ten young animation film makers from Ireland, Belgium, Hungary, Bulgaria, Turkey and Germany pass a Masterclass with top international lecturers. They are trained by international trainers from Italy, France, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Germany and the USA in Halle (Saale).
The Masterclass familiarises the participants with all production departments in animation. They learn the fundamentals of analysing motion, creating motion, character acting and develop their own stories during the Masterclass which are then developed into cartoon films and realised.
Whilst expanding the competitive position and carrying out a sensible analysis of the requirements of the animation branch, the successful EAM Programme has been further differentiated. From 2010, there will be a stronger orientation towards the aimed at target group. The EAM 2010 will be subsequently expanded by introducing the EAMgraduate and EAMprofessional Programmes.
EAM – European Animation Masterclass
The European advanced training initiative for new animation
EAM is an international advanced training offensive for committed and very promising young talents as well as experienced professionals to extend their skills and knowledge and enter into a comprehensive, international exchange of experience.
EAM addresses graduates of animation or similar studies but also young professionals who have already taken part in animation productions. This advanced training program enables the participants to gather practical international contacts in a very close and intensively tutored collaboration with national and international experts.
Our master students come from several European countries and work jointly on their own projects in international teams for several months under the guidance of a crew of international experienced and renowned trainers and experts.
EAM On Tour
The new network program of the European Animation Masterclass
2005 the European Animation Masterclass launched the European exchange program EAM On Tour. The program is aimed at supporting exchange and networking beyond the Masterclass participants, promoting joint discussions and integrating further partners into the program.
To this end the European Animation Masterclass is going on tours and each year from 2005 onwards it will visit one selected animation school in Europe and local studios with interesting international productions. The scheme focuses on exchange and establishing a continual network of young animation professionals.
EAM OnTour will be organised as a one-week workshop that will also be open to selected former EAM-students and students at European partner schools (maximum 30 people).
